As the construction industry gears up for the opportunities and challenges that 2024 will present, the Construction Briefing has put together a list of some of the most important trade shows taking place this year.
We’ve compiled a list of 25 major shows around the world, dealing with everything from the latest construction machinery, to cutting-edge digital technology, to concrete.

Dates: 22-25 January
Location: Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, USA
Celebrating 50 years this year, World of Concrete is dedicated to the commercial concrete and masonry industries and takes place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, where it is expected to host around 60,000 people.
Dates: 13-14 February
Location: Javits Center, New York City, USA
New York Build features 14 conferences on a range of different ‘tracks’ including ‘future of construction’, ‘government policy’, and ‘sustainability’ with more than 500 speakers in total. It also hosts what it claims is the USA’s largest meeting of Women in Construction.
Dates: 5-7 March
Location: ExCeL London, UK
Futurebuild, an event in London, aims to champion sustainability, showcase innovation and foster collaboration in the construction industry. There will be around 400 exhibitors from countries around the world as well around 500 speakers in a range of different show sections.

Location: Scandic Copenhagen Hotel, Denmark
The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) will hold its annual summit in Denmark this year. Created and organized jointly by IPAF and Access International, the events are an opportunity to gain knowledge from key access leaders, network face-to-face with industry friends, and celebrate with peers.

Location: AT&T Hotel & Conference Center, Austin, Texas, USA
Examine the latest trends and cutting-edge solutions that are redefining construction machines and methodologies, sustainability practices and project management at the Construction Technology Summit. Featuring keynote speakers including Todd Farmer, product management, construction digital & technology at Caterpillar and Joel Honeyman, vice president of global innovation, Doosan Bobcat.

Location: Rosen Shingle Creek, Orlando, Florida, USA
An annual convention and trade show from professionals around the world involved in modular and offsite construction, featuring a mix of networking opportunities, seminars and exhibits.

Location: Oregon Convention Center, Portland, Oregon, USA
The International Mass Timber Conference sees timber professionals from across the manufacturing, design, development and construction industries gather to explore opportunities to build with timber products.

Location: Sao Paulo Expo, Brazil
Promising to be the biggest yet in 2024, the Feicon trade show in Brazil is for the civil engineering and architecture sector in Latin America. More than 1,000 brands will exhibit in four sectors: finishings, structure, installations and external.

Location: Hyatt Regency Houston West, Houston, Texas, USA
A unique event with key-note, round table and multiple seminars from leaders in the hydrogen industry. Find out more about hydrogen-ready equipment, green H2, and the challenges involved in the blending and compression of H2 safely and efficiently.

Location: Multiple locations across four separate events in Texas, Arizona, Florida and California
A gathering for all things lifting and specialized transport, organised by the world’s biggest association for the sector.
Dates: 23-26 April
Location: Stockholmsmässan, Sweden
A biennial show for the building and construction industry in the Nordic region, hosted in Stockholm, Sweden. The event attracts around 900 exhibitors, along with visitors from Sweden, the Nordic countries, Baltic states and the rest of Europe.

Location: Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre
France’s biggest construction equipment show for the building and civil engineering sector, taking place for the first time since 2018. It also features the World of Concrete Europe event for the concrete industry.
Dates: 13-14 May
Location: NH collection Barcelona Podium, Barcelona, Spain
An event for the built environment sector that showcases smart solutions and new technologies for the entire building lifecycle.
Dates: 15-16 May
Location: Epic Sana Marqês hotel, Lisbon, Portugal
Europe’s equipment rental association meets to discuss rental’s part in the circular economy and decarbonisation, and more key issues affecting the sector. This year, the event is entitled ‘The future of rental solutions’. Held during the ERA convention, are the European Rental Awards, organised by KHL Group. These are the most prestigious awards in the industry, celebrating the creativity and innovation in the sector.

Location: Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan
The sixth Construction & Surveying Productivity Improvement Expo is due to take place in Chiba, Japan in May this year. The event will see exhibitors show off a range of construction machinery, aimed at the civil engineering and surveying sectors.
Dates: 29 May-1 June
Location: Istanbul Expo Center, Istanbul, Turkey
This year sees the 17th International Construction Machinery, Technology and Equipment Trade Exhibition, Komatek. It will be held at IFM Exhibition Center in Istanbul, Turkey. Supported by the Turkish construction machinery bodies IMDER and ISDER, it will see more than 500 brands exhibiting new technology, machinery and products to around 40,000 visitors.

Location: ExCeL, London, UK
A two-day UK show, Digital Construction Week features over 500 exhibitors, many of whom offer live demonstrations of new digital technology and tools aimed at increasing productivity in the construction sector.

Location: Music City Center Venue, Nashville, Tennessee
The conference for North America’s tower crane industry, Tower Cranes North America provides owners and buyers of tower cranes with the latest information on trends in technology, regulations, rental management, safety, and new applications for tower cranes.

Location: Hillhead Quarry, Buxton, UK
Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, Hillhead is a quarrying, construction and recycling show taking place in a Derbyshire limestone quarry in the UK. Around 600 exhibitors are expected to attend in 2024, with around 20,000 industry professionals visiting.

Location: Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles, France
A four-day show in Paris, France, with around 1,300 exhibitors including materials manufacturers and suppliers, professional and institutional organisations, and services companies.
Dates: 1-2 October
Location: Jafza One Convention Centre, Dubai
Cranes and Transport Middle East (CATME) is an essential learning and networking event for anyone working in the region’s crane and specialized transport sector. Following the success of the first three CATME conferences in 2016, 2018 and 2022, CATME returns to Dubai on the 1 and 2 October 2024.

Location: IFEMA, Madrid, Spain
An international event in Madrid, Spain, featuring new materials and construction techniques. New areas like Construtec Zero and ConstruTIC will showcase digital construction technology like automation and internet of things, as well as promote sustainability and energy efficiency.

Location: Munchen Bryggeriet, Stockholm, Sweden
The annual, international networking, educational event and celebration even for the demolition industry returns in 2024, this time to Munchen Bryggeriet in Stockholm, Sweden.
Dates: 26-29 November
Location: Shanghai New International Exhibition Center, China
Bauma China, the international trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines and construction vehicles returns to Shanghai this year, having been cancelled in 2022 due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Dates: 11-14 December
Location: Knowledge Park II, Greater Noida, New Delhi, India
Taking place in New Delhi every two years, Bauma Conexpo India offers global and Indian construction and mining machinery manufacturers the opportunity to present their new technologies and products to the Indian market.
