• Rhinebeck Reformed Church, 6368 Mill St., Rhinebeck will have a garden and plant sale on Friday and Saturday, June 2 and 3, to raise funds for the preservation and maintenance of the church. Container plants, hanging baskets, and pots of annuals, small shrubs, and perennials donated from local businesses or dug from local gardens will be offered. Think of us if your perennials or small shrubs need dividing. Someone can help dig and pot if you are unable. Organizers of the sale are asking for lightly used yard decorations, tools, birdhouses, windchimes, lawn, porch furniture, and large-size terra cotta planters. Vendor space is available to sell local produce and garden-yard-type crafts. • Hurley Reformed Church, 11 Main St., Hurley, will have a Yard Sale on Saturday, June 3, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Refreshments will be available. Spaces are available to rent for $25. Call (845) 331-4121 for more information.

• The John Burroughs Nature Sanctuary in West Park will host the special program "Explore Damsels and Dragonflies" Saturday, June 3. Participants will discover the natural history of one of the most ancient lineages and learn tips to discover, identify and photograph a diverse variety of striking and color species. After the program participants can tour John Burroughs’ Slabsides cabin which will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Space is limited. • The Olive Free Library's early summer Library Fair is Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The live music lineup includes local singer-songwriter, at 11 a.m., 1969 Woodstock Festival veteran Gilles Malkine, at noon and the Nuggs at 1 p.m. Food is by Kevin Vines BBQ with ice cream and maple popcorn also available. The event also features kids activities, a book sale and a plant sale featuring perennials, shrubs and seedlings. • Join the Mountain Top Historical Society in Haines Falls on Saturday, June 3, at 9:30 a.m. for a guided all-day hike to Poet's Ledge from Twilight Park, led by Nick Lemann. This is a woods walk that crosses over streams and above the ravines that cascade into the Kaaterskill Clove. Participants will cross above Santa Cruz, Buttermilk, Wildcat, and Viola Falls on a trail that leads to Poet's Ledge, the well-known viewpoint looking west up the Clove. Come prepared for some wet or muddy conditions, rocky trails. Bring plenty of water, snacks, lunch, bug spray. Sturdy shoes or hiking boots and long pants are highly recommended. Bring trekking poles if you have them. The organizers eserve the right to ask hikers to drop out if they are not properly prepared for challenging conditions. Rating: moderately difficult due to length and terrain; minimal elevation gain. Length: 6 miles round trip. The hike will be canceled in case of rain. The event is limited 20 hikers. Meet at the MTHS KRT parking lot for 9:30 sign-in and carpooling arrangements (parking at the trailhead in Twilight is limited).

• The Friends of the Saugerties Library Street Fair returns on Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. behind the Saugerties Public Library at 91 Washington Ave. The festival wll feature plant, book and baked sales, along with a petting zoo, face painting, a magic show, music, arts and crafts vendors, and more. The Saugerties Police Department and Diaz Ambulance will offer free bicycle helmets. The Friends invite vendors to participate. The fee is $25 per table. Contact Jen Kavanagh at [email protected]. • The Ulster County Historical Society is sponsoring the second annual vintage baseball game in Stone Ridge at Tongore Park on Saturday, June 3 at 2 p.m. where the Kingston Guards and Saugerties Vintage Base Ball Club will face off featuring rules from the 1800s. Admission will be free and refreshments and treats will be available for sale. Tongore Park, also known as Marbletown Town Park, is located at 350 Tongore Road and the game will be played the next day in the event of inclement weather.

• Memories of childhood accidents take center stage in Performing Arts of Woodstock's production of Rajiv Joseph's "Gruesome Playground Injuries" is running at the Mescal Hornbeck Community Center, 56 Rock City Road, Woodstock, on weekends through June 11. Doug (Will Anderson) and Kayleen (Taylor Steward) will suffer right of passage childhood accidents like bloody falls off swings, down stairs or off skateboards and much more over the course of 30 years in this production directed by Joe Bongiorno. • The Hudson Valley Pride Coalition March and Festival will take place beginning Sunday, June 4 at New Paltz Middle School beginning at noon followed by a festival at Hasbrouck Park until 5 p.m. To volunteer or march visit outloudhudsonvalley.com/parade. • The Episcopal Church of the Messiah, 6436 Montgomery St., Rhinebeck, will present organist Ken Cowan in recital on Sunday, June 4, at 4 p.m. He comes to Rhinebeck to introduce the church's recently restored 1923 E.M. • Family Fun Day, on Sunday, June 4, in Ross Park at 208 Bowne St., Port Ewen, will feature a 5K run, car show and many other activities. The event kicks off with the Esopus 5k run starting at 9 a.m. Sign-up for the race starts at 8:30 a.m. Car show participants are asked to arrive at 9:30 a.m. Other activities including games for kids and local vendors kick at 10 a.m. and run through 3 p.m. Food including fried dough, hamburgers and hotdogs will be available for purchase. • Paul Andreassen will give a short talk on the history of Malden and West Camp Monday, June 5, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Saugerties Public Library. Admission is free.

• Award-winning author "Rev" Sherry Blackman returns to the Morton Memorial Library & Community House at 82 Kelly St. Rhinecliff on Friday, June 9, at 7:30 p.m. to share stories from her book "Rev-it-Up" Tales of a Truck Stop Chaplain" which tells stories form a crossroads of saints and serial killers, Blackman's book reveals a world that touches everyone's lives, but is one we really don't know. Blackman, a journalist, poet and author is the pastor of the Presbyterian Church of the Mountain in Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania.

• The Woodstock Diamond Dance and Music Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday, June 10 and 11, at 1766 Glasco Turnpike, Woodstock. An outdoor reception will take place June 10 at 5:30 p.m., with a show at 6 p.m. On June 11, the program begins at 2:30 p.m. The featured group will be Linda Diamond & Company, a diverse nodern dance ensemble of professionals, along with music by Woodstock composer Tom Desisto. Admission on June 10 is $20 and includes the reception. Admission on June 11 is $15. Admission for children 12 and under is $7. • The Mountain Top Historical Society will host "A history of Lionel Trains" Sunday, June 11, at 1 p.m. at the historic former Ulster and Delaware Railroad station at 5132 state Route 32A, Haines Falls. Ron Gabriel will speak about the history of Lionel Trains and show off his model trains. There will also be book signings by local authors, and an exhibit of railroad photos and memorabilia. • Hurley Reformed Church, 11 Main St., will be serving a chicken barbecue on Tuesday, June 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. The chicken will be from Brooks’ BBQ in Oneonta. • The Women Photographers Collective of the Hudson Valley's exhibit "Beneath the Surface" will take place at the Olive Free Library, 4033 state Route 28A, West Shokan, through July 8. • The Rhinebeck Farmers Market's outdoor market has opened for the season, operating Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Dec. 17. This season's market, held in the municipal parking lot located at 61 E. Market St., will feature over 30 vendors. New vendors will include include Millbrook Beef & Dairy, of Millbrook. A rotating slate of baked goods includes Mighty Donuts, of Red Hook, Little Carrot Baking Co., of Patterson, N.Y., and the Little Rye Bakehouse, of Kingston. • "Into My Hands: Recent Donations to Ulster County Archives," featuring a sampling of records donated to the Ulster County Archives between 2011 and 2022, is on display in the second-floor Archives Gallery at the Ulster County Office Building at 244 Fair St., Kingston. The donated records date from 1678 to 2022. They range from land sale transactions, court records, maps, family collections and photographs to reference books and last year's unexpectedly popular "I Voted" sticker. • Ian Flanigan, a Saugerties native and contestant on "The Voice," and Spencer Crandall will support headliner Michael Ray during the "Concert in the Catskills" at Catskill Point on Saturday, June 24, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 for general admission and $75 for VIP. • The Kingston Midtown Arts District's ninth annual Celebration of the Arts EXPO returns Saturday, July 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free event offers attendees a hands-on opportunity to experience various art forms. Professional teaching artists will lead interactive art workshops including, dance, music, performing arts and folk arts, discussions and demonstrations. • Westchester Circus Arts return to High Meadow School at 3643 Main St, Stone Ridge this summer for the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic. Public performances under a 300-person tent, by this woman-owned animal-free circus are Friday, July 28, at 7 p.m., Saturday, July 29, at 4 p.m., Sunday, July 30, at 2 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 4, at 7 p.m. Some High Meadow students taking part in a one-week summer camp session led by Westchester Circus Arts performers will appear in the July 28 and Aug. 4 performances. • The Cave Mountain Catskills Music Festival at Windham Mountain takes place on Sept.15 and 16. Headliners include Weezer and Joe Russo's Almost Dead, Radio Woodstock announced. A.J. Croce, son of American folk singer Jim Croce, joined by a full band, will perform at the Bardavon at 35 Market, St. Poughkeepsie Sunday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m. Croce's set will feature some of his father Jim Croce's classics, some of his own tracks and songs that influenced both him and his father.
